Review of the GV-SOLAS annual conference 2024 in Würzburg

With a splendid view on the River Main and Marienberg castle, the newly published 7th edition of the working group on cage processing (orange brochure) was presented in the Lower Franconian metropolis as part of the session "LAS facility management - from organisation to emergency management".

The focus here was on the many additions resulting from current trends towards a particularly sustainable and partially or fully automated design of the cage cleaning process, while at the same time reducing the workload on employees.

Initial approaches were also shown as to how the advantages of digitalising the vivarium can be integrated, particularly in order to make the entire material cycle more efficient.

The recommendations of the AK KAB regarding the certification of the results for cleaning and decontamination continue to be the reliable basis for this further development.
